Ellwood
City Forge manufactures carbon, alloy, stainless, and other specialty
steel rough turned bars using electric furnace, ladle refined,
vacuum degassed steels in weights up to 65,000 lbs., lengths up
to 40' long and diameters from 6" to 50" round. Additional refining,
via Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) or Electro Slag Remelting (ESR)
can also be provided, when required.
ECF's forging facility consists of four hydraulic presses: 1000,
1500, 2500 and
4500 tons. Our standard practices insure all bars receive adequate
forge reduction. All bars are ultrasonic tested to assure sound
centers.
After forging, bars move through ECF's unique rough-turned "bar
processing cell". Here lathes and auxiliary equipment are configured
so that all operations are performed within the cell. This provides
for increased efficiency, shorter lead times, and reliable, on-time
delivery.
We offer complete heat treat capabilities including anneal, normalize
and temper, solution treatment, quench (polymer and water) and
temper and stress relieve. Our testing and inspection capabilities
include chemical analysis, mechanical testing, nondestructive
testing including Level III ultrasonic, penetrant testing, and
magnetic particle testing.
